Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to gather and define user requirements for assigned features.
- Contributes to identifying dependencies and assists in preparing design documents for specific product areas with minimal supervision.
- Develops and implements code for products, services, or features, ensuring code reusability wherever possible.
- Supports the process of breaking down larger tasks into smaller, manageable work items and provides accurate effort estimations.
- Serves as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), handling on-call duties to monitor system, product, or service performance, and restores functionality for minor issues after obtaining necessary approvals.
- Continuously enhances technical expertise by staying updated with emerging trends to improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while ensuring consistency in large-scale monitoring and operations.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with proven experience in coding using languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements applicable for this role.
- Must successfully complete the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer, and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with at least 1 year of technical engineering experience in coding using C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Or, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with proven coding experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Or, equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cloud backend development and operations, with a focus on performance, reliability, resilience, and scalability.
