Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Data and Records Governance Framework in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitor data quality, records metrics, and compliance with established standards across the organization.
  • Identify data and records management risks, gaps, and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and implement a Records Management Program to ensure proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval, and secure disposal of records.
  • Formulate and execute a Data Governance Strategy that aligns with the bank’s overall data management goals and business objectives.
  • Provide organization-wide guidance, training, and support on Data and Records Management standards and compliance requirements.

Assistant Vice President Expectations:

  • Advise and influence decision-making processes, contribute to policy formulation, and ensure operational efficiency across functions and business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex and specialized tasks, utilizing strong professional expertise to deliver impactful outcomes for the business function.

  • For individual contributors, lead collaborative assignments, guide team members through structured workstreams, and identify when cross-functional expertise is needed to achieve objectives.
  • Proactively explore new directions for assignments and integrate diverse methodologies or practices to meet evolving business outcomes.
  • Provide expert consultation on complex issues, supporting leaders in resolving escalated matters effectively.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage operational risks, while developing and enhancing policies and procedures to strengthen control and governance.
  • Take ownership of risk management and control enhancement within areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate closely with other business units and support areas to ensure alignment with overall business strategies and objectives.
  • Perform complex data analysis using information from multiple internal and external sources to deliver creative and effective solutions.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information clearly and appropriately, tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
  • Influence and persuade stakeholders through data-driven insights and effective communication to achieve desired business outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Strong experience in Data and Records Governance, including data controls, data lineage, and related methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with data products, cloud platforms, and data warehouse solutions.
  • Solid understanding of business domains such as Retail or Banking, with experience in regulatory reporting.
  • Proven experience working in a regulated environment with a strong grasp of data and control risk management principles.

Additional Skills:

  • Good understanding of various technologies used in the execution and management of data controls.
  • Ability to proactively drive organizational and process change to enhance data governance and efficiency.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working across large, multi-functional teams delivering complex services with a focus on resilience, risk, and governance controls.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and insight generation, with the ability to derive meaningful and actionable insights from large datasets.
