Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare periodic indirect tax reporting forms and reports (usually monthly) for company legal entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Verify transactional records to ensure correct application of tax codes, input tax deductibility, and output tax applicability.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of tax returns with local statutory requirements and monitor periodic filing deadlines.
- Maintain monthly reconciliation of VAT GL accounts and coordinate the clearing of reconciliation items.
- Utilize tax reporting tools to perform tax control checks and generate accurate tax reports.
- Support accounting teams by conducting formal quality checks of processed invoices.
- Provide feedback to local finance managers regarding current tax payable amounts, accuracy of accounting records, and reconciliation items.
- Monitor and track expected changes in indirect tax laws within supported jurisdictions.
- Participate in team projects under the guidance of senior colleagues.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; 1–4 years of prior experience in indirect tax matters is an advantage.
- Semi-qualified Chartered Accountants (CA) are preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Basic understanding of VAT/GST regimes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and seniority levels.
- Proficiency in rational decision-making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.
- Excellent time management skills to handle responsibilities effectively in a complex and largely autonomous work environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask, and a proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated ownership, responsibility, and accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes.
