Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support analytical data platform solutions to enable data-driven decisions and insights.
- Design data schemas and manage internal data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems.
- Work on various data model designs, architecture discussions, implementations, and optimizations.
- Collaborate with other teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using AWS big data technologies such as EMR, Redshift, and Elasticsearch.
- Work with AWS services including S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, and continuously explore new AWS technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain data lake platforms and work with components such as Hadoop and Amazon S3.
- Utilize SQL technologies on Hadoop, including Spark, Hive, and Impala.
- Continuously improve analytical processes, optimizing and simplifying self-service support for end users.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, work independently, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Recognize and apply best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with peers in a team of talented engineers to share and gain knowledge.
- Be proactive in building deep domain knowledge of various Amazon business areas.
- Own the development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to support key business decisions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience working with SQL.
- Practical experience with programming languages such as Python.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS, Big Data, NoSQL, ETL, and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced development environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AWS technologies such as Amazon S3, EMR, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Redshift.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of industry-standard reporting and visualization tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous requirements.
