Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, digitizing, entering, maintaining, and ensuring the quality control of exploration and production well log data within the S&P Global US Energy database.
- Identify, splice, score, and perform quality assurance on high business-value well log curves, compile them into composite log curve sets, and distribute the data to interpretation applications.
- Perform petrophysical processing of well log data using various logging software, including editing bad data and depth alignment, utilizing tools such as PowerLog and Kingdom.
- Resolve well log escalations and provide effective solutions.
- Manage historical entries within the database and participate in data improvement projects through global, country, basin, or area reviews conducted by the team.
- Ensure the consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of data captured from multiple sources.
- Support the team in daily activities to help achieve defined goals and project objectives.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or Earth Science.
- Good computer skills with a basic working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
- Solid understanding of petroleum geology and well logging concepts.
- Prior experience in the oil and gas industry.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with PowerLog or Kingdom software.
- Interest in managing and handling geological information.
- Ability to convert technical information into a usable format for database entry.
- Proficient user of key MS Excel functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Good team player with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
