Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that enhance the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s services.
  • Collaborate with a team of software and systems engineers on projects that support users responsible for service uptime.
  • Support the end-to-end availability, reliability, and performance of critical services.
  • Develop automation to prevent the recurrence of issues and improve system resilience.
  • Automate responses to all non-exceptional service conditions to minimize manual intervention.
  • Participate in on-call rotations across global teams, following a follow-the-sun support model.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Experience in writing code, with strong knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage technologies, particularly with a focus on Linux.
  • Familiarity with Unix-based systems.
  • Basic understanding of AWS services or virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, EKS, Terraform, AWS, Azure, or Akamai is considered an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of Major Incident Management (MIM) processes.
  • Experience working with logging and monitoring solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo.
  • Provide engineering support for operating system troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Assist the team by automating repeatable operational tasks.
  • Support the functionality and operations of AWS and Azure environments.
