Key Responsibilities:
- Develop applications that align with client objectives and meet user needs effectively.
- Design, write, and maintain application code, including managing application databases.
- Analyze and update existing software to enhance functionality, optimize performance, resolve issues, and enable compatibility with new hardware platforms.
- Adapt and remodel applications as needed to improve overall performance.
- Identify and incorporate specific client requirements and preferences into application development.
- Conduct extensive testing to ensure applications are free from errors and bugs.
- Install applications and provide technical advisory support.
- Collaborate with internal technical stakeholders to gather information on project constraints, performance requirements, and interface specifications.
- Consult with clients during the design phase to determine and understand their needs.
- Prepare software documentation following company processes and templates.
- Participate in software product reviews and team meetings to contribute to ongoing project development.
- Perform additional related tasks as required by the project or team.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Strong understanding of computer science, with expertise in computer programming, application design, and user-focused features.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while maintaining team integrity.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to comprehend and analyze complex systems efficiently.
- Advanced proficiency in writing software using Java and standard object libraries.
- In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum.
- Proficiency with integrated development environments (IDEs) for software development.
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Java, Perl, Python, and C++.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills, using relevant data to make timely and impactful decisions that benefit cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in programming languages, such as Java, Perl, Python, or C++, are preferred.
- Scrum or Project Management certification is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in Software Applications Engineering, Software Development, or related work.
- Proficiency in programming languages, including but not limited to C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Significant experience working with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and database management.
- Solid project management expertise and/or experience working in Agile environments.
