Key Responsibilities:
- Build and integrate robust data processing pipelines for enterprise-level business analytics.
- Architect data processing pipelines on Big Data systems, identifying backend source pipe issues and collaborating with Tech Engineering to resolve them.
- Apply a strong engineering mindset to build automated monitoring, alerting, and self-healing features, ensuring restartability and graceful failures in consumption pipelines.
- Understand the business domain to create reusable, cross-functional data assets.
- Take ownership of the creation, accuracy, and quality of consumption pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Tech Engineering and Product teams to integrate BI solutions and algorithms into the Big Data platform.
- Resolve data issues, troubleshoot system problems, and assist with reporting and debugging data accuracy issues when needed.
- Build front-end visualizations using available BI tools that align with business requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on experience in building end-to-end, complex, and robust Big Data Engineering pipelines using Spark (Databricks) and advanced PL/SQL.
- Expertise in data modeling principles and methods, including conceptual, logical, and physical Data Models.
- Proven data analytics skills with the ability to serve as a Data Domain/Subject Matter Expert and maximize data potential.
- Strong understanding of architecture and design principles for Data Engineering products.
- Excellent collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical business users to design Data Engineering solutions for Data Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environments.
- Proficient in utilizing Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to represent insights effectively.
- Expertise in performance tuning for Spark and PL/SQL.
- Hands-on experience working with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases like SQL Server and Azure Synapse.
- Exposure to programming languages like Unix and Python is a plus.
