Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clear and compelling data visualizations to effectively communicate economic insights to diverse audiences.
- Design and build reusable R functions and packages to support data analysis and process automation.
- Create and format analytical content using tools such as R Markdown and/or Quarto.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Shiny applications for interactive data exploration.
- Build interactive visualizations using JavaScript charting libraries such as Plotly, Highcharts, and D3.js, or front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Work with databases and data platforms, including SQL and Hadoop, to manage and analyze large datasets.
- Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented code to ensure maintainability and ease of understanding.
- Collaborate with team members using Git for efficient version control and code management.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Demonstrate proficiency in R programming and experience working with RStudio IDE or Positron IDE.
- Possess strong knowledge of R packages such as dplyr for data cleaning, transformation, and aggregation.
- Exhibit familiarity with dependency management and documentation practices in R, including tools such as roxygen2.
- Have a solid understanding of version control concepts and hands-on experience with tools such as Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket for collaborative development.
- Demonstrate experience in writing SQL queries and working with relational database systems.
- Show creativity and a strong passion for data, coding, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills while also being capable of working independently when required.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects effectively.
- Be comfortable working in cross-functional teams, including engineers, product owners, data scientists, and economists.
