Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Front Office teams to enable and develop market-leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions for the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) division.
- Act as both an advisor and a builder of innovative AI/ML solutions for clients, sales, and trading, working closely across MSS business lines and HSBC divisions.
- Introduce innovative ideas and approaches to AI/ML solutions and the underlying data sources to address existing and emerging business problems while identifying market and client opportunities.
- Contribute as a Data Engineer within a global team to build, experiment with, and productionize AI/ML solutions that deliver measurable value to the business and clients.
- Partner closely with sales and trading teams to design and deliver impactful data-driven and AI-enabled solutions.
- Source and integrate internal and external data for cross-asset data applications, including building data dictionaries, staging layers, integration frameworks, and permission controls to enable efficient data discovery and access.
- Develop advanced analytics solutions for both structured and unstructured data, such as time-series market data, news feeds, and document processing.
- Build scalable data pipelines and APIs to support high-volume and low-latency data processing for AI/ML applications, including Generative AI, NLP, and traditional machine learning models.
- Contribute to technical solution design through hands-on development, ensuring adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) standards.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate delivery outcomes and demonstrate the success and impact of implemented solutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Proficiency in Python within an enterprise-scale development environment.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL, MongoDB, KDB, and PGVector.
- Hands-on experience with big data processing technologies such as Spark and BigQuery.
- Practical experience working with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), version control systems (Git), software testing practices, and a solid understanding of DevOps methodologies.
- Experience in API development, including implementation of access control and permission management.
- Strong foundational knowledge of computer science concepts, including programming, distributed computing, operating systems, security, and networking.
- Demonstrated ability to design and build data models, data warehouses, and end-to-end data pipelines.
- Experience with additional programming languages such as Java, C++, or JavaScript is an added advantage.
