Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a sub-team within the Remote Technical Support group for Power Hardware, supporting service structure and serviceability of Power Server hardware products.
- Assist in designing and executing productivity tools and aids required for infrastructure support.
- Apply a basic engineering understanding of computer hardware architecture to perform assigned tasks.
- Utilize computer science skills, or an electronics engineering background, to contribute to technical activities and problem-solving.
- Gain firsthand exposure to Power Server customer expectations and the technical complexities of IBM’s server systems.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Strong passion for pursuing a career in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Foundational knowledge in software design and/or software testing.
- Understanding of computer architecture principles.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, or Assembly.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, or Bash.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
- Knowledge of RISC architecture.
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts.
- Familiarity with development tools such as Git/GitHub, IntelliJ, or similar platforms.
