Key Responsibilities:
- Create structured data models to enable efficient analysis.
- Design and develop scalable extract, transform, and load (ETL) packages from business source systems, including ETL routines to populate data from various sources.
- Participate in transforming object and data models into appropriate database schemas within defined design constraints.
- Interpret installation standards to meet project needs and produce required database components.
- Create test scenarios and participate in thorough testing and validation to ensure the accuracy of data transformations.
- Take accountability for running data migrations across different databases and applications, such as MS Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, and other ERP systems.
- Work across multiple IT and business teams to define and implement data table structures and data models based on business requirements.
- Take responsibility for analyzing and developing documentation related to ETL processes and data migrations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to assess and evaluate potential data requirements.
- Be accountable for defining and managing scoping, requirements, and prioritization activities for small-scale changes, and assist in more complex change initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to recommend improvements to automated and non-automated components of data tables, data queries, and data models.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications preferred, such as SAP or Microsoft Azure.
- Data Engineering or related professional certifications (e.g., Certified Data Engineer, Certified Professional) are preferred.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in defining and managing scope, requirements, and prioritization activities.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, object and data modeling techniques, design principles, and practical experience in building and maintaining physical and logical data models.
- Advanced expertise in tools such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, SQL Analysis Services, SAP Data Services, and SAP BTP.
- Deep understanding of data architecture, including the relationship between physical and logical data models.
- An analytical mindset with strong business acumen.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Perl, Bash, Shell Scripting, and Python.
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in data engineering or data mining roles within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in building modern data analytics solutions that deliver insights from large and complex, multi-terabyte data sets.
- Strong experience in designing and architecting secure, highly available, and scalable systems.
- Advanced proficiency in automation and scripting, with proven examples of successful implementation.
- Strong hands-on experience using scripting languages such as Perl, Bash, Shell Scripting, and Python.
- Experience working with big data tools such as Hadoop, Cassandra, and Storm.
- Experience in software development using at least one applicable programming language, preferably .NET.
- Strong proficiency in working with databases such as SAP, SQL Server, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL.
- Experience working with data sets and organizing data using advanced MS Excel functions, such as macros and pivot tables.
