Key Responsibilities:
- Create validation test plans for both legacy and new applications, and conduct design trade-off studies to evaluate technical options.
- Verify and validate the implementation of legacy and new applications or algorithms by executing sub-system and system-level test cases through simulation or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) setups.
- Take ownership of software quality deliverables by establishing in-house quality procedures, standards, and specifications, and ensure customer requirements are fully addressed.
- Participate in requirements gathering and design discussions for both new and legacy applications to provide input and ensure testability.
- Follow and adapt best testing practices and principles, and actively promote them across the organization to drive consistency and improvement.
- Serve as an expert in developing and executing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression testing.
- Make informed technology decisions at the individual level and assess their impact on the overall project and system architecture.
- Manage comprehensive test plans and testing methodologies for software projects, particularly for Locomotive Gateway Applications, while also performing QA requirements engineering.
- Document requirements, design considerations, and trade-offs to maintain traceability and support design decisions.
- Explore opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements by implementing test scripts and performing data analysis using Python.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BTech/MTech) with a foundational understanding of embedded software and industrial communication products.
- Proficient knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and familiarity with communication gateways and IoT products.
- Strong understanding of serial communication protocols such as RS232 and RS485.
- Well-versed in networking concepts and industrial Ethernet-based communication protocols.
- Skilled in using tools such as PuTTY, HyperTerminal, Modpoll, Docklight, and Wireshark.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Python programming is considered a plus.
- Awareness of software and network security principles is advantageous.
