Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an integral member of the investment team by supporting onshore LCS credit analysts in their daily activities.
- Develop both quantitative and qualitative skills through the credit research process, gaining exposure to a wide variety of industries and investment types.
- Build a comprehensive understanding of companies and capital structures through diverse credit analysis experiences.
- Demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibilities, with potential role evolution in collaboration with the onshore LCS team.
Initial Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate within a team-based structure by sourcing key data inputs to assist the lead LCS analyst in evaluating higher-quality new credit investments in the US and European Primary and Secondary Credit Markets.
- Learn alongside the lead analyst to perform thorough analyses of borrowers’ businesses, industry drivers, inherent credit risks, and valuation/recovery prospects.
- Support ongoing credit monitoring by collecting and storing financial documents and due diligence materials from data rooms.
- Enrich the internal credit database with key deal statistics and enhance declined deal data to assist Marketing and Portfolio Managers in understanding deal decisions and comparisons with peers.
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc information requests from lead LCS credit analysts, providing accurate and relevant data as needed.
- Assist the lead analyst in updating and maintaining credit shell financials for higher-quality credit names.
- In the medium to long term, take on additional responsibilities such as drafting summary notes on earnings and significant news events, with final review and sign-off by the lead analyst before distribution to Portfolio Management teams.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Basic experience working with US and European companies, including knowledge of their financial statements, accounting principles, and capital structures. Experience with US/European corporate bonds and financial modeling is an added advantage.
- Practical hands-on experience working with or covering US and European credit companies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel, along with good skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently; demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Capable of multitasking and delivering results under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written English, essential for effective communication across global client facilities.
