Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop production-grade Data & Analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Digital Workplace teams to influence key architectural and solution decisions for a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective Data & Analytics platform.
- Provide thought leadership to enhance technology advancements and customer focus for the platform.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Cloud (GCP), data engineering pipelines (primarily Spark), data ingestion, and data management.
- A portfolio showcasing Cloud-based Data & Analytics projects, open-source contributions, or relevant publications is a plus.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, and customer-centricity.
- Contribute to the American Express Data & Analytics strategy by working with other technology teams to drive enterprise solutions, define best practices, and expand expertise beyond Digital Workplace.
- Partner with Digital Workplace technology teams to develop the next-generation platform strategy across all products and channels.
- Actively participate in agile team meetings and application reviews.
- Work closely with business, product, and engineering leaders across the organization to gain insights and drive impactful solutions.
- Strengthen collaborations with industry partners and suppliers to develop robust data solutions and conduct market research for innovative advancements.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong expertise in building production-grade data pipelines, primarily using Spark.
- Extensive knowledge of real-time and batch data ingestion, data governance, data management, and Data DevOps.
- Proven experience in designing scalable, large-scale distributed systems capable of handling millions of requests, with a focus on reliability engineering and platform monitoring.
- Expertise in preprocessing and cleaning large datasets from multiple enterprise sources as part of data ingestion.
- Willingness to learn AI/ML pipelines used in multilingual conversational systems.
- Ability to devise optimal pipeline strategies, tools, and frameworks to address real-world scenarios involving user commands and requests.
- Experience in reviewing architectures and providing technical guidance to engineers.
- Strong knowledge of various data architectures, emerging tools, and trends in data engineering, especially Big Data, Streaming, and Cloud technologies. GCP expertise is mandatory, while familiarity with AWS and Azure is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop framework) and at least one production-grade Big Data implementation.
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Elasticsearch, Tableau, and Power BI is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and paradigms in data engineering and data science.
- Proficiency in Agile, SAFe, and program management methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
