Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Planning, Migration, and Installation
- Provide support in architecture planning, migration, and installation for new projects within the designated tower (platform, database, middleware, backup).
- Lead the structural and architectural design of platforms, middleware, databases, and backup solutions, ensuring scalability and extensibility based on system requirements.
- Conduct technology capacity planning by assessing current and future requirements.
- Leverage new features of underlying technologies to optimize the performance and functionality of installed databases and applications/platforms.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies along with backup and recovery plans.
Tower Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day operations by troubleshooting issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Plan and oversee system upgrades, migrations, maintenance, backups, installations, and configurations for the assigned tower.
- Monitor and evaluate the technical performance of the tower, implementing measures to enhance efficiency and optimize performance.
- Develop and maintain a shift roster to ensure seamless tower operations.
- Create and update operational documentation, including SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, and data architecture guidelines.
- Provide weekly status reports to the client leadership team and internal stakeholders, detailing database activities, progress, updates, and next steps.
- Leverage technology to develop and implement a Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and other efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
Team Management
a. Resourcing
- Forecast talent requirements based on current and future business needs.
- Recruit and onboard the right talent to build a high-performing team.
- Train direct reports to enhance their capability in making effective hiring and selection decisions.
b. Talent Management
- Ensure 100% compliance with organizational onboarding and training standards to enhance team effectiveness.
- Identify and develop high-potential employees, ensuring their career progression within the organization.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in leadership roles.
c. Performance Management
- Set clear performance goals for direct reports and conduct regular reviews and appraisals.
- Provide constructive feedback and ensure employees leverage organizational performance programs such as Performance Nxt.
d. Employee Satisfaction and Engagement
- Lead and implement engagement initiatives to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Monitor employee satisfaction scores and introduce initiatives to improve engagement.
- Assign challenging and enriching projects to foster professional growth and motivation.
- Recognize and appreciate employee contributions through structured recognition programs.
