Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a sub-team within the Product Engineering or OS Support team, supporting the service structure and serviceability of the mainframe product set.
- Assist in designing and executing productivity aids for infrastructure improvements.
- Utilize programming skills and basic engineering knowledge to contribute effectively to the role.
- Apply Computer Science skills (preferred) or Electrical Engineering expertise to support technical tasks.
- Gain hands-on experience in understanding mainframe customer expectations and IBM’s service standards.
- Explore the technical complexities of mainframe systems and contribute to their development and support.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree
Required Technical and Professional Skills:
- Strong passion for a career in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Fundamental knowledge of software design and testing.
- Understanding of computer architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C, C++, Java, or Assembly.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, Perl, or Bash.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Skills:
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux kernel functionality and development.
- Knowledge of LAN drivers and networking concepts.
- Experience with FPGA development.
- Background in embedded systems development.
