Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with tax operations, product, compliance, engineering, operations, accounting, and other business stakeholders to analyze tax financial and entity-level data, extracting key trends and insights.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in tax data while generating reports for external data sharing.
- Develop effective visualizations to communicate data insights to key decision-makers and serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Build models to automate the detection and resolution of anomalies and inconsistencies in tax data.
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and self-service dashboards, focusing on automation wherever possible.
- Explore FinTech systems and data to proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Present findings and insights to cross-functional teams and management.
- Gain a deep understanding of tax systems and data flows, documenting insights and training internal teams to institutionalize data science best practices.
Eligibility Criteria:
- M.S. or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 1+ years of industry experience required for M.S. degree holders.
- Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent for Bachelor’s degree holders.
- Proficiency in SQL with advanced querying skills.
- Experience in extracting insights from data and effectively communicating key takeaways to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with Excel and data visualization/dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar.
- Previous experience working in a Product, Tech, or Analytics Services company serving millions of customers across multiple platforms and countries.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in either Python or R.
- Basic understanding of experimental design, including A/B testing and statistical methods.
- Strong ability in data storytelling and root cause analysis using data-driven insights.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced, agile environments.
- Ability to collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to drive product impact.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Prior experience in Finance, FinTech, Tax, Payments, or a related industry is a plus.
