Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of Architects and Engineers on a global strategic initiative to optimize the use of Reinsurance data and enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing complex analytical solutions to transform the insurance industry.
- Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, including Big Data and Machine Learning, to address emerging challenges in Swiss Re’s Reinsurance business.
- Work on projects that apply advanced analytics to solve real-world industry problems.
- Engage and collaborate with team members across multiple regions, including Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with PySpark and Spark SQL is a plus.
- Knowledge of large datasets and distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Hive, or Hadoop is an advantage.
- Experience in web application development with programming skills in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS is a plus.
- Proficiency in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
- Approaches problem-solving with curiosity, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to focus on details while maintaining a broader perspective.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
