Key Responsibilities:
- Assist GCCM colleagues in migrating production-grade data and pipelines to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Define and enforce data governance requirements to ensure accurate and consistent storage of data records.
- Develop and adapt querying scripts and data pipelines to prepare operational data layers for analytics.
- Implement quality monitoring and control mechanisms for the systems developed.
- Deploy autonomous, reliable solutions and logging systems to maintain 24/7 service availability without human intervention.
- Write well-engineered and thoroughly documented code in collaboration with other developers.
- Design and build scalable ETL pipelines in a complex data environment.
- Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and negotiate requirements within an Agile framework.
- Establish best practices for a data ecosystem that supports machine learning and future AI research.
- Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to meet their data format and condition requirements.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Proven experience in a Data Engineer or Data Architect role.
- Strong knowledge of common data structures used for storage and online analytical processing (OLAP).
- Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform services or other relevant cloud infrastructure services.
- Expertise in querying languages such as SQL or similar.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and applied principles.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git, for coordinating work and managing code releases.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capability to justify design choices and assumptions with clear reasoning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced expertise in visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for creating impactful reports.
- Familiarity with Python and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience in developing machine learning workflows and supporting data science projects.
- Previous exposure to Agile development practices for delivering solutions efficiently.
