Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly deliver standardized Risk Information packs to agreed stakeholders.
  • Adhere to principles of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting.
  • Employ an optimal mix of automation and portfolio insights to ensure consistency, accuracy, and actionability of Risk Information.
  • Provide accurate Risk Information in compliance with Group and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop new Risk Information suites and self-serve utilities as necessary.
  • Implement and integrate Operational Risk Reporting’s Data Visualization strategy, tools, and dashboards across the OR function.
  • Deliver and implement industry-leading reporting solutions and visualizations to meet the needs for self-service reporting, ad-hoc data insights and analytics, and internal and external reporting obligations.
  • Drive increased efficiency through automated reporting, data visualizations, and analytics, delivering innovative content and value-added services to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to thoroughly understand their data, reporting, and visualization needs.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear use cases, define robust user stories, conduct impact assessments, incorporate into the pipeline, and plan for delivery.
  • Conduct detailed and accurate testing/peer review against outputs to identify, rectify, and retest defects before sharing outputs with stakeholders.
  • Proactively consult and engage with multiple stakeholders to gain buy-in for ideas and approaches.
  • Provide data insights for critical business questions using various analytical tools and techniques such as Tableau, SQL, Python, and Excel.
  • Ensure reporting processes and outputs continue to meet stakeholder needs and regulatory/policy compliance requirements, including conformance with BCBS239.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Possess a degree or equivalent education, or relevant work experience within financial services, preferably with a technology-based degree.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and skilled in other tools such as SQL, Python, RDBMS, or equivalents.
  • Experienced in handling large volumes of information flows, with excellent process mapping and documentation skills.
  • Skilled in designing, developing, and implementing reporting, data visualization, and data analytics solutions for senior stakeholders, committees, and regulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with stakeholders, understanding their needs and requirements, and capable of challenging without confrontation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain sophisticated technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders and report outputs to relevant parties.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on excellence, accuracy, and attention to detail. Possess structured problem-solving skills to deliver sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in data analysis and pattern identification to inform appropriate analysis and results.
  • Familiarity with Risk Function activities and understanding of governance, general risk management, and/or audit/conformance methodologies.

Preferred skills:

  • Hands-on experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a Risk, Operational Risk, or Compliance function, in roles related to governance, reporting, policy, or conformance/assurance.
  • Familiarity and comprehension of Barclays’ Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), and the Operational Risk & Controls System (ORAC).
  • Understanding of operational risk principles and proficiency in common tools such as Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Key Indicators (KIs), and controls.
  • Exposure to new and emerging reporting technologies.
  • Understanding of Barclays’ internal structures and operations.
  • Practical knowledge of BCBS239 principles and adherence to Barclays Group Data Management Standards.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and principles.
