Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the data governance processes for the data & analytics platform.
- Verify that the sourcing, creation, processing, and sharing of data align with approved data use and adhere to elevated conditions of use, where applicable.
- Monitor the quality of data (provided, transformed, or consumed) in the data & analytics platform, promptly identifying and resolving issues according to firmwide data quality issue management procedures.
- Record business and technical metadata of the data & analytics platform, documenting the flow of data (origin and destination) in a manner easily comprehensible to data consumers.
- Assess data risk metrics for the data & analytics platform and address any threshold breaches as necessary.
- Establish and enforce assigned retention periods for data within the data & analytics platform, ensuring proper destruction at the designated end of its lifecycle.
- Implement confidentiality classification levels and data protection classifiers for data in the data & analytics platform, facilitating access management.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Adaptable to function both as an individual contributor and a team leader.
- Demonstrated self-initiative with problem-solving acumen, at ease in making logical decisions in the face of ambiguous requirements.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, with the ability to effectively convey information to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Outstanding presentation and influencing skills for facilitating discussions and presentations with business and functional leaders.
- Proven experience in overseeing the end-to-end data management of data warehouses and data lakes.
- Implementation proficiency in data retention and destruction solutions, as well as the development of business glossaries, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and access management solutions.
- Capability to translate privacy, compliance, and legal requirements into actionable data governance processes, procedures, and controls.
- Excellent command of written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with data lake and data warehouse architectures, along with expertise in data management best practices.
- Proficient in conducting data analysis utilizing SQL.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in the German language.
