Key Responsibilities:
- Extract meaningful insights and draw inferences from diverse white and research papers across various insurance domains available online.
- Improve data collection procedures to incorporate relevant information essential for constructing analytical systems.
- Automate routine processes using tools such as Python or R.
- Possess professional skills required throughout all stages of data analysis, encompassing the application of standard statistical methods, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), documentation, and presentation.
- Communicate analytical insights effectively by synthesizing and packaging results, including the creation of PowerPoint slides and charts.
- Actively participate in cross-functional projects, interpreting data, and translating findings into actionable insights. Additionally, provide support for ad-hoc analysis and reports.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold a BS/MS degree in computer science or a science-related field, which may include but is not limited to Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, and Statistics.
- Possess 0-1 years of hands-on experience in roles similar to the one described.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Python/R programming skills, with Julia programming skills considered a plus.
- Exhibit expertise in data manipulation tools, including SQL and Microsoft Office, and a high level of proficiency in Excel.
- Showcase excellent written/documentation and verbal communication skills, exemplified by the creation of white papers or technical presentations at meetings and conferences.
- Demonstrate analytical and innovative thinking, along with strong problem-solving skills.
- Possess good applied statistics skills, including knowledge of distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
Preferred skills:
- Practical experience in areas such as data mining, text mining, and the development of statistical models, with familiarity in machine learning being beneficial.
- Possess a keen attention to detail, coupled with self-driven qualities, quick learning abilities, and robust analytical and problem-solving skills. Additionally, demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation.
- Exhibit the capability to autonomously lead projects and showcase technical ownership of the assigned work.
