Key Responsibilities:
- Execute projects, assignments, and tasks assigned by the Team Leader or Engineering Manager to support product design, development, and manufacturing activities.
- Create, update, and revise engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, 3D models, bills of materials, and component specifications, as required.
- Perform engineering activities related to product design, testing, and preparation of technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineers or team leads.
- Own and manage specific design modules within larger mechanical system designs and independently develop appropriate design concepts.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth execution of engineering projects.
- Follow established design standards, procedures, documentation practices, drawing requirements, and data-control processes applicable to the respective business group.
- Participate in the implementation of ACES and other relevant engineering standards to ensure designs comply with applicable requirements.
- Understand, implement, and adhere to Eaton’s product launch processes throughout the design and development lifecycle.
- Develop proficiency in multiple CAD tools and design modules relevant to component design, including sheet metal, cabling, solid modeling, harness design, and related applications.
- Provide CAD support to designated customers using specified CAD software, data-exchange platforms, and document-control systems.
- Develop fully parametric component designs by applying component design methodologies, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and applicable drafting standards.
- Perform initial quality checks on drawings, models, and design concepts to ensure compliance with Eaton and customer standards and requirements.
- Develop design concepts through ideation and rapid block modeling, and recommend appropriate technical changes or modifications when required.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and tolerance stack-up techniques to develop detailed designs in accordance with established component design methodologies.
- Apply DFSS concepts and tools, including PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management, and DVPR, to support new product development and improvements to existing products.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0 to 1.5 years of relevant engineering or product design experience.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more CAD tools, preferably CATIA, along with experience working with PLM tools.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence and successful project execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques for identifying and resolving technical and process-related issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Awareness of DFSS tools and methodologies, including FMEA, FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis, and related quality and risk assessment techniques.
