Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of AXP’s core business and the key factors driving various business decisions.
- Analyze large volumes of data to derive actionable business insights and develop innovative solutions.
- Leverage the closed-loop capabilities of the American Express network to enable more intelligent and relevant business decisions.
- Drive innovation by developing new and improved approaches using big data and machine learning solutions.
- Clearly articulate and structure business findings across prospect and customer domains for leadership and key business partners.
- Maintain an external perspective and stay informed about the latest developments in Finance, Payments, Analytics, and related fields.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold an MBA or a Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have 0–30 months of experience in analytics or big data workstreams.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive project deliverables and achieve desired business outcomes.
- Possess strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and innovative thinking skills, with the ability to learn quickly and work independently on complex and unstructured initiatives.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional business partners across global locations.
- Possess hands-on experience with technologies and programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, Hive, Spark, and SQL.
- Have knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, including active learning, transfer learning, neural models, decision trees, reinforcement learning, graphical models, Gaussian processes, and Bayesian models.
- Have knowledge of MapReduce techniques and attribute engineering for large-scale data processing and machine learning applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrate strong expertise in coding, algorithms, and high-performance computing.
