Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new products within the Industrial Safety line of business, with a focus on fixed gas and flame detection sensors and controller solutions.
  • Develop embedded software and systems that comply with functional safety requirements.
  • Design and implement new features on embedded platforms while managing the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through implementation and testing.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit, integration, and system testing, to ensure embedded software quality and reliability.
  • Utilize automated testing frameworks and tools to achieve high test coverage and effective testing strategies.
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and implement timely resolutions.
  • Develop and validate FPGA-based interfaces and processing blocks for high-speed sensor data acquisition, timing control, filtering, co-adding, and real-time signal processing.
  • Support laser driver development, including current and temperature control interfaces, modulation control, protection features, calibration, and laboratory validation for optical sensing platforms.
  • Collaborate with optical and spectroscopy teams to translate laser spectroscopy requirements into embedded firmware, FPGA logic, control algorithms, diagnostic utilities, and test automation.
  • Develop proof-of-concept firmware and support FPGA/SoC bring-up activities.
  • Develop software applications for high-speed data acquisition and laser driver control firmware.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintain project documentation, and provide regular progress updates.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, with 0–3 years of experience and a strong inclination toward embedded systems design and control systems.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrate proficiency and hands-on experience in C, Python, or C++ programming.
  • Have experience in firmware development for Cortex-M3/M4 and ARM V7 architectures using cross-compilers such as IAR Embedded Workbench, Eclipse, and MPLAB.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in wired communication protocols, including SPI, I2C, WDT, and Timer interfaces.
  • Possess the ability to perform statistical data analysis using tools such as MS Excel, MATLAB, or Minitab.
  • Have good knowledge of laser spectroscopy, optical sensing, interferometric signal acquisition, spectral analysis, gas absorption measurement, and laboratory-based validation of electro-optical systems.
  • Demonstrate experience or strong interest in laser driver development, including current drivers, TEC and temperature control, modulation, protection circuits, calibration, and embedded control loops.
  • Knowledge of FPGA-based data acquisition, high-speed ADC interfacing, clocking, buffering, DMA/streaming concepts, and real-time processing pipelines is an added advantage.
  • Possess hands-on experience in FPGA design and verification using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog, along with familiarity with FPGA development tools, timing closure concepts, and hardware debugging using logic analyzers or embedded analyzers.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of signal processing techniques and advanced mathematical concepts, including FFT-based analysis, filtering, linear algebra, calculus, and statistical analysis.
