Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of firm-wide Independence concepts and apply EYG Independence policies in day-to-day activities.
- Execute defined work procedures in accordance with EYG Independence guidelines, while gaining hands-on experience in research, analysis, and system updates.
- Review submissions, documents, and requests received from client-serving teams to assess completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Independence requirements.
- Perform reconciliation, research, and analytical activities using EY Independence and finance tools to ensure systems are updated with accurate and consistent information.
- Update EY tools and databases following review and guidance from project managers to support audit and client-serving teams in mitigating independence-related risks.
- Communicate and coordinate with project managers and members of audit and pursuit teams to follow up on responses and ensure timely completion of procedures.
Technical Expertise:
- Develop the ability to interpret client company structures, entity attributes, and relationships in line with audit client and affiliate definitions as per EYG Independence policy.
- Build and maintain working knowledge of internal Independence and financial systems and tools.
- Understand system interdependencies to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring alignment across platforms.
- Conduct secondary research using internal and external databases to support analysis and decision-making.
- Perform reconciliations, research, and draft recommendations for review by project managers as part of established procedures.
- Actively participate in knowledge calibration and training sessions, raising relevant questions and promptly addressing gaps in process understanding.
- Work toward meeting and exceeding defined individual KPIs, demonstrating accountability and continuous improvement in role performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate, Master’s, or Postgraduate degree, preferably in the Finance domain, from a reputed institution.
- 0–1 year of experience in research and analysis within a professional services environment.
- Prior exposure to client interaction is preferred.
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic understanding of company and ownership structures, auditor independence requirements, and fundamental risk management concepts.
