Key Responsibilities:
- Security Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain internal security tools, pipelines, and integrations for SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets scanning; automate repetitive security test cases and workflows using Python, Go, or Node.js; develop APIs and dashboards to expose real-time security telemetry; and integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD) to enforce security gates.
- Secure Software Development: Write production-grade, maintainable code to enhance the security posture across repositories; contribute to internal or open-source frameworks for secure code review, dependency risk detection, and compliance automation; and collaborate with developers to design security libraries and SDKs that enable secure-by-default development.
- Threat Modeling & Design Reviews: Drive security architecture and design reviews for new features; perform threat modeling and translate findings into engineering solutions and automated guardrails; and develop reusable threat modeling templates or scripts that scale across teams.
- Application Security Testing: Perform and automate web, API, and mobile application security assessments; develop scripts to correlate findings across scanners, triage false positives, and prioritize remediation; and build developer-friendly one-click validation tools or fuzzers for local testing.
- Developer Empowerment & Security Culture: Contribute to internal security documentation, workshops, and awareness programs; champion developer-first security automation to enable faster fixes with fewer blockers; and continuously identify opportunities to eliminate manual security efforts through code and automation.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
Skills:
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software development and application security, including prior experience in building security tools, developing automation frameworks, or contributing to DevSecOps initiatives.
- Technical Skills: Strong programming proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js, with React or TypeScript considered an added advantage. Solid understanding of web technologies, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with security testing tools such as Burp Suite, Nuclei, OWASP ZAP, Trivy, and Semgrep. Working knowledge of AWS or GCP security fundamentals, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience integrating security checks into GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Core Competencies: Strong builder mindset with the ability to treat security as an engineering problem. Proven debugging and system design skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain security risks and trade-offs to developers. Passion for automation, open-source tools, and continuous improvement.
- Bonus: Experience with security data pipelines, LLM-assisted code review, or AI-driven vulnerability correlation. Contributions to open-source security projects or internal tooling frameworks are an added advantage.
