Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with consulting teams in the BCG X A&A division on a wide range of advanced analytics initiatives.
- Apply analytical methodologies to deliver value to BCG’s consulting case teams and Practice Areas by providing subject-matter expertise and accelerated execution support.
- Collaborate with case teams to gather requirements, define specifications, design solution approaches, develop analytics models, and deliver outcomes aligned with client needs.
- Provide technical support by leveraging deep knowledge of data analytics tools, solutions, and processes to build high-quality and efficient analytical deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively with case and proposal teams throughout project execution.
- Develop deep expertise in at least one analytics domain while maintaining understanding of all available analytics capabilities.
- Define expected analytics outcomes and recommend suitable methodologies or approaches.
- Deliver original analysis and actionable insights, typically owning all or part of an analytics work module and integrating results with case team objectives.
- Establish credibility by partnering with consulting teams on analytics matters and drawing meaningful conclusions on internal and external issues within assigned modules.
- Communicate analytical findings through structured presentations, documents, dashboards, and charts, providing clear synthesis and visual representation of results.
- Collect, analyze, and document insights from case team engagements to support the development of new best practices and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain documentation to enhance internal analytical capabilities, sanitize confidential information, and build organized reference repositories.
- Lead analytics workstreams or modules independently, with minimal supervision.
- Support business development activities, including preparing proposals, case vignettes, and sales collateral to generate new opportunities.
- Guide junior team members on analytical methods, tools, and platforms while conducting quality checks for project deliverables.
- Contribute to internal content creation, team thought leadership, and intellectual property development.
- Provide technical training sessions for team members and consulting stakeholders to strengthen overall analytical competency.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business analytics, statistics, economics, operations research, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 2–4 years of relevant industry experience delivering analytics solutions in a commercial environment.
- Prior experience in a global organization, preferably within a professional services or data analytics role.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more industries, including but not limited to retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), healthcare, or telecommunications.
- Previous experience working in a global professional services environment is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in statistical concepts and methodologies, including hypothesis testing, sampling techniques, and interpretation of statistical results.
- Hands-on experience in data mining and predictive modeling using linear regression, clustering (e.g., K-Means, DBSCAN), classification (logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, boosted trees), and time-series forecasting (e.g., SARIMAX, Prophet).
- Proven experience with at least one major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, along with working knowledge of AutoML solutions such as SageMaker or Azure ML.
- Proficiency with at least one tool in each of the following categories:
- Programming languages: Python (required), plus R, SAS, or PySpark; SQL (required)
- Data visualization tools: Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, or Streamlit
- Data management tools: Alteryx, MS Access, or any relational database management system (RDBMS)
- ML deployment tools: Airflow, MLflow, Luigi, Docker, etc.
- Big data technologies: Hadoop ecosystem and Spark
- Data warehouse platforms: Teradata, Azure SQL DW/Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.
- Version control: Git, GitHub, or GitLab
- Productivity tools: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Coding environments: VS Code or PyCharm
- GenAI tools: OpenAI, Google PaLM/BERT, Hugging Face, and related frameworks
Functional Skills:
- Expertise in building analytical solutions that deliver measurable business value for clients across multiple domains.
- Experience with use cases such as price optimization, promotion effectiveness, product assortment planning, and sales force efficiency.
- Knowledge of customer lifecycle management (CLM), segmentation, cross-sell/upsell, recommendation systems, loyalty programs, churn prevention, lifetime value maximization, and revenue enhancement strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical insights clearly, confidently, and concisely.
