Key Responsibilities:
- Understand data-related needs for various cross-functional R&D capabilities, such as data catalogs, master and reference data management, and data products.
- Identify and document data use cases aligned with R&D business processes, objectives, and initiatives.
- Design and develop business cases to support the successful adoption of data-related initiatives and capabilities.
- Define and document both business and technical requirements based on R&D organizational needs.
- Conduct business-to-system analysis and assist in vendor assessments to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Provide support for communication and training activities related to new data capabilities and initiatives.
- Stay informed on emerging data and technology trends within R&D and the broader pharmaceutical industry.
- Understand and adhere to data governance policies, standards, and procedures specific to R&D data.
- Educate and guide R&D teams on information management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Support the development of business cases, requirement gathering, and use case creation across R&D functions.
- Capture and document business process definitions, execution flows, performance metrics, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist Data Stewards and Business Capability Leads in identifying and defining key master and reference data elements essential to business processes.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or Cheminformatics.
Required Skills:
- Several years of experience in business, data management, information architecture, technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the value and impact of data through clear data value statements.
- Practical experience with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles.
- Proven ability to understand end-to-end data usage and align it with business needs.
- Good knowledge of R&D business processes and data domains, including research, clinical, and regulatory areas.
- Experience serving as a business translator between IT and R&D teams on projects of significant size and impact.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality, time management, and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective networking, influencing, and negotiation capabilities, along with superior problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and assume accountability for decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
