Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in data exploration and preprocessing by collecting, cleaning, and preparing datasets for machine learning tasks, including handling missing values, detecting outliers, and performing feature engineering.
- Support the development of machine learning models by learning and applying various algorithms such as regression, classification, and clustering under the guidance of senior team members.
- Contribute to model evaluation and validation by using appropriate metrics and techniques to ensure accuracy, robustness, and generalization.
- Assist in designing and conducting experiments to test different models and optimize hyperparameter configurations.
- Document code, methodologies, and results in a clear and organized manner; participate in team meetings and present insights as required.
- Actively engage in learning and skill development by exploring new machine learning techniques, tools, and best practices through training, mentorship, and self-study.
- Participate in exploratory projects and discussions related to Generative AI, including understanding foundational concepts, working with pre-trained models, and assisting with data preparation for GenAI tasks (if applicable).
- Collaborate effectively with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to overall team objectives.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of mathematics, including linear algebra, calculus, and probability, as well as core statistical concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in data science, particularly Python.
- Basic understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts and algorithms such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, and k-means clustering.
- Exposure to key Python libraries used in data analysis and machine learning, including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Matplotlib/Seaborn (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset and a strong desire to learn and contribute to real-world data projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of Generative AI concepts and models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and diffusion models.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
