Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee trading and lending data for Mortgages and Structured Products, including data pipelines, database management, validation, and quality control.
- Drive process and workflow automation initiatives to eliminate redundancies, reduce manual interventions, and enhance the efficiency of the firm’s trading and lending platforms.
- Develop strategic reporting solutions for trading desks and asset management teams across relevant products and asset classes.
- Ensure the end-to-end flow, accuracy, and completeness of data by collaborating with Trading Desks, Asset Management, Engineering, and Strats to understand business requirements and define strategic data models and systems.
- Liaise with Controllers, Compliance, Risk, and other divisions to support regulatory and business-critical reporting through automated toolkits.
- Translate business requirements into detailed solution specifications and deliver high-quality outputs within established timelines.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for analytics, automation, and reporting initiatives.
- Reconcile data discrepancies and perform data validations between external vendors and internal databases through analytics and research.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, RDBMS databases, and ETL processes.
- Strong academic background with a four-year engineering degree and a minimum GPA equivalent of 3.0.
- Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java or Python, is preferred.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced in interacting with structured data.
- Familiarity with industry-standard data transformation and reporting tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense, Alteryx, or RapidMiner.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently while managing internal and external relationships.
- Highly team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Proficient in or able to quickly learn advanced-level Excel functionalities.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively and collaborate with Technology teams to drive data-smart solutions.
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge and/or experience with Machine Learning techniques.
- Understanding of databases, data models, and ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) processes.
- Experience in mortgage banking or the broader financial services industry.
- Understanding of structured finance, collateralized lending, fixed income, or related financial modeling concepts.
