Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and participate in architectural planning and refactoring.
- Focus on bug fixing and enhancing application performance.
- Design and implement new features and improvements for the Android platform.
- Mentor interns and provide support to team members.
- Work closely with QA, Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, or Science (BE/BTech/BCA/BSc) in any discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in a relevant role.
- Hands-on experience with the development of two or more Android apps.
- Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and the Android development ecosystem.
- Understanding of Material Design guidelines, common mobile UX patterns, and anti-patterns.
- Experience with popular Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, and Architecture Components.
- Proficiency in different programming paradigms, especially functional and reactive programming.
- Familiarity with consuming REST APIs and understanding the principles of RESTful services.
- Proficient in using Git and continuous integration practices.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and multi-threading.
- Understanding of advanced Android concepts like Custom Views, Accessibility Services, and background processing APIs.
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with various architectural patterns, especially MVVM, and their testability.
- Expertise in debugging, identifying memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and using tools like ADB, Proguard, etc.
- Ability to distinguish between good and bad design.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and easily understandable code for collaboration.
- Apps published on the Play Store are a plus.
