Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the timely creation of cost estimates and proposals.
- Perform quantity take-offs to identify equipment and device counts from bid documents.
- Interpret the sequence of operations to determine point counts, materials, and required control devices.
- Analyze specifications to identify all necessary labor and code-related requirements.
- Create system network riser diagrams.
- Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Scope of Work (SOW).
- Prepare subcontractor technical bid packages and coordinate with the Procurement team and Sales Executive.
- Obtain quotes from external vendors for additional products and services.
- Develop final customer proposals.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with remote sales and operations teams across different time zones.
- Learn and utilize company-specific design, bid, and quote tools.
- Support the sales team by addressing technical and pricing inquiries.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities performed during the estimation process and assist in the turnover process when an estimate/proposal becomes an order.
- Participate in cost review and technical handover meetings with the operations team.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma
Preferred skills:
- Diploma preferred.
- Experience in security systems with demonstrated competencies in Access Control, Video Surveillance, and Intrusion systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with using an Estimating/Quoting system is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
- Capable of designing a networked Building Security System.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Understanding of the building construction process.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in French is required for those supporting Quebec.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements, identify needs, and resolve issues in a positive manner.
- Ability to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities while effectively managing time and meeting deadlines.
