Key Responsibilities:
- Work full-time on projects based in Pune, assisting Seagate Research Architects and leads in cutting-edge research related to storage technologies.
- Investigate emerging technologies focused on efficient data storage, especially data generated from domains like AI/ML and mobility.
- Explore innovative mechanisms in electronic hardware modeling and prototyping, including the use of upcoming technologies such as computational storage for secure data processing.
- Conduct surveys and analyze insights from public and enterprise forums to help develop technology models, generate innovative ideas, and conceptualize solutions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to contribute toward architecture development and the creation of proof-of-concept solutions.
- Research and investigate advancements in storage components, systems, data creation models, and storage security.
- Document current and prospective storage architectures tailored for various application needs.
- Provide research-based insights to inform future Seagate product development or assist in creating reference architectures.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across Seagate’s global sites.
- Author internal and external research papers and collaborate with affiliated academic institutions to translate academic research into practical applications for the storage industry.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A creative, independent, and self-motivated individual with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in India while pursuing education.
- Working knowledge of both Unix-based and Windows operating systems.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of engineers.
- Proven ability to study and explore a functional area in depth.
- Ability to effectively present ideas and findings to colleagues and partners.
- Graduate-level research experience in C/C++ programming is required.
Preferred skills:
- Exposure to the storage domain and embedded environments is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Python programming, particularly in the context of AI/ML techniques, is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in C/C++ programming, which is considered a fundamental requirement.
